Pre-March for Life Divine Service draws 350 people

About 350 people attended a pre-March for Life Divine Service at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Arlington, Va., Friday, Jan. 25. Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison preached. “We are a people of joy over life!” Harrison told the worshipers. “Life is precious and sacred.” The service, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arlington, was the first event of the two-day LCMS Life Conference, which is being held to mark the 40th anniversary of legalized abortion. After the service, participants headed to the National Mall to participate in a rally and then to march with thousands of others to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court building. The national “March for Life,” an annual event, protests the high court’s decision that legalized abortion, Roe v. Wade.
