January’s The Lutheran Witness focuses on LCMS disaster response efforts in 2011
The January edition of The Lutheran Witness addresses the barrage of natural disasters that occurred in 2011, highlighting the ways in which The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) responded through works of mercy. Get a firsthand look at how the generous donations of LCMS members have made it possible to show Christ’s love to those suffering as a result of those disasters, and learn about God’s alien work: showing His love through chaos and confusion. Relief effort updates include Minot, N.D., Joplin, Mo., Japan, Haiti and more.
Also, catch up on the work on the Lutheran Malaria Initiative (LMI), and read an interview with Bishop Walter Obare of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya who describes how LMI is helping thousands of people in his country improve their quality of life.
